Four Voices from One Coastline: Rota, Cádiz

Four of the ten artists on Volume 1 come from the same town: Rota, on the Atlantic edge of the Bay of Cádiz.

Same town, four different lanes

• Ray Santos — rap, dancehall and trap, in English and Spanish. He opens the cypher.
• Chevit — rap and trap, all in Spanish.
• 00Lond — trap and R&B across Spanish and English.
• Q Ro — hardcore rap and reggae. He closes the cypher.

Four artists from one coastline, and none of them sound alike. That range is exactly what the cypher is built to show.

Facing the water

Rota looks straight out onto the ocean the whole movement is named after — which makes it a fitting place for the first volume to start and finish.
